A rental property in Kingsbry, Maynooth, has sparked outrage on social media after being advertised for €1,100 per month - excluding bills - despite its seemingly cramped and unconventional layout.

The listing describes the property as an open-plan kitchen, bedroom, and living space.

However, images reveal that the small double bed is positioned just a few feet from the kitchen sink, with no other furniture in the room except for a single cabinet mounted above the bed.

Hundreds of people took to social media to criticise the property, with many ridiculing its design and high price tag.

One user sarcastically remarked, "Invite the lads over for breakfast in bed," highlighting the impracticality of the layout.

Another user expressed disbelief at the cost, noting that their monthly mortgage and electricity bill combined amount to the same figure being asked for the rental.

Comparisons were also made to Dublin’s soaring rental market, with one person suggesting that a similar setup in the capital would likely be priced at double the amount.

Someone else said: "That's absolutely insane, I'm paying slightly less than that for a full one bedroom apartment in Melbourne, right by the beach."
