The owner said the issue is bigger than just taking a wreath, with local businesses already under massive financial strain.

The owner of a flower shop in Clane said local businesses are struggling enough without having items stolen from their stores.

Speaking to Kfm, Amanda, the owner of Flowerz, said a handmade door wreath was stolen outside the store.

She said it took six hours to make and cost €150.

The theft, which went unnoticed until the following day, was captured on CCTV footage, but the shop has since posted images on social media in hopes of identifying the culprits.

Amanda said she originally posted the images with the culprits' faces blurred out.

She said she wanted to give them time to be honest but they never came forward.

She then published unblurred images on social media.

She said the issue is bigger than just taking a wreath, with local businesses already under massive financial strain.

“We’re a small village, and it’s disheartening to see this happen, she said.

She added: “Times are hard enough for small businesses. Every tenner counts, and we can’t afford these losses.”

The incident has been reported to Gardaí, and Amanda has urged the community to remain vigilant.

“We’ve all got to support each other," she said.

The shop has been running a charitable initiative called the “Tag Tree,” where customers could take a tag, purchase a surprise gift, and return it to the shop.

Amanda has urged those taking part to leave their gifts at the local Londis by December 22nd to be delivered to nursing home residents in Clane.

The shop is moving to a new location at Unit 16, Wolftone Centre, Naas, near Leo Burdock’s.
