USB Stick Stuck To Window With Letter 'E' Sparks Questions Following Carlow Shooting

Evan Fitzgerald

Gardai in Carlow will examine the USB stick.

Gardaí are examining a USB stick following last Sunday’s shooting in Carlow town.

Evan Fitzgerald of Kiltegan in Rathvilly in Carlow had been due in court today to face a number of gun and ammunition charges over allegations they had been purchased on the dark net.

They had been intercepted in Straffan.

The judge in that case was today told the charges against Evan are withdrawn as he is deceased.

His co-accused, 21 year olds Shane Kinsella of Tinnock in Kiltegan, Wicklow, and Daniel Quinn Burke of Allendale Lawns in Baltinglass, Wickow, were sent forward for trial.

Mr. Kinsella’s barrister, Timmy Kennelly, said a USB stick had been stuck with duct tape to the outside of his client's window on Sunday morning with the letter E also duct-taped to the window.

He said he couldn’t speculate as to who put it there or what the E stood for, but said he wanted to see the USB stick and his client was anxious about it.

Judge Desmond Zaidan said his client would be entitled to full disclosure after the Gardaí in Carlow examine it.
