Phase 1 begins today & is expected to be completed by 23rd of January
Upgrades to Sallins wastewater network have begun this morning.
The works, will be delivered on behalf of Coffey Construction Limited.
Some roads in the village are closed, but traffic management is in place, with emergency & restricted local access maintained.
Irish Water says that Phase 1 begins today and is scheduled to be completed by the 23rd of January.
Phase 2 is to begin on the 24th of January, and is scheduled for completion on 13 February.
Schedule permitting phase 3 is to begin on the 14th of February, and is due to be completed by the 6th March.
The utility company notes Sallins, Clane, Naas, Newbridge and Kill were served by a wastewater network which was no longer fit for purpose, leading to overflows and flooding during storms.
Irish Water says it is investing over €38 million to solve the problem & provide additional capacity to support the building of houses, schools, attract new industry and allow companies to expand and grow.
