It is intended to provide additional capacity for growth in the wider area.

Upgrade works are to be carried out at Timolin Waste Water Treatment Plant

The project, by Irish Water, is designed to provide additional capacity for growth in the wider area.

It was approved today by the Minister for Housing, and will progress to design, detailed planning, procurement stages.

There is no information, however, on project budget and timelines.

Kildare Fianna Fáil Senator, Fiona O'Loughlin, says  “This is crucial to us all in South Kildare. We are seeing our towns and villages continue to grow and expand, and that is very positive, but we need to see our infrastructural development keeping pace. I have raised the issue of infrastructure in South Kildare with Minister O’Brien on a number of occasions, and am pleased to see that Irish Water will be carrying out these works”
