The region is without such a facility, whilst there is one in Athy, and another in Kilcullen
In July of 2019, Kildare County Council completed the Part 8 process for the facility.
That, following a public consultation, according planning permission for a recycling facility at Kilmacreddock in Celbridge.
The plans included a weighbridge, a pay station, a household hazardous waste storage building and an admin building.
Its proposed maximum capacity is 7,500 tonnes.
The facility has yet to be delivered, and Fine Gael Cllr., Joe Neville, wants KCC to issue a progress report.
His motion comes before the September meeting of the Celbridge Leixlip MD on Friday.
