Kildare County Council has confirmed it has no immediate plans to update its Differential Rent Scheme, which determines how much council tenants pay based on household income.

In a statement to Kfm News, the Council said it continually reviews all housing policies and schemes to ensure they remain “fair, sustainable and aligned with national guidance documents.”

It follows reports that Dublin City Council is considering changes to its own rent calculation model, after an internal review found more than one in five council households have a weekly income above €1,000.
