The cars have been seized for a number of different reasons
An unaccompanied learner driver was detected speeding on the Rathbride Road near Kildare Town yesterday.
The speed limit on the road is 60km/h, however the driver was caught doing speeds of over 90 km/h.
When pulled over by An Garda Síochána, the driver was tested for drugs and was subsequently arrested after the test came back positive for
cocaine.
Penalty points were issued and a court appearance will now follow for drug driving.
This arrest comes after Gardaí across the county seized 49 vehicles in the past week, for a range of issues, including no insurance, no tax, no
NCT and unaccompanied learner drivers.
In one instance, at a checkpoint in Newbridge, an unaccompanied learner was found to have been driving on a learner permit for the past 16 years.
