The charges stem from an incident in March 2024
Two young men, charged with multiple firearms offences alongside Evan Fitzgerald, have appeared in court in Naas District Court.
The charges stem from an incident in March 2024 in which the two were arrested along with Mr. Fitzgerald, who died after firing shots at a shopping centre in Carlow earlier this month.
22-year-old Daniel Quinn Burke, with an address at Allendale Lawn, Baltinglass, Co Wicklow, today pled guilty to four charges - two charges in relation to possession of weapons and two charges in relation to the possession of ammunition under the Firearms Act.
Judge Elva Duffy told him he is facing very serious charges; he will appear again for sentencing on the 7th of October.
22 year old Shane Kinsella, with an address Tynock, Kiltegan, Co Wicklow, who is facing the same four charges, requested more time before entering a plea.
He is expected to appear again on 18 July.
A previous court hearing heard the pair were charged with possession of a semi-automatic pistol, as well as an assault rifle and a range of ammunition along with their friend Evan Fitzgerald who died after firing shots at a shopping centre in Carlow earlier this month.
