The aim of the extensions is to increase capacity for Long Term Projected Enrolment (LTPE) of 1,000 pupils.
The Department of Education has issued a Letter of Intent for major extension and refurbishment works at Cross and Passion College in Kilcullen and Patrician Secondary School in Newbridge.
The projects are expected to provide facilities for up to 1,000 students, including six dedicated special education needs classrooms.
With departmental approval now in place, the next steps involve finalising contracts.
