They inserted cash trapping devices into the machines, which trapped the money, and returned later to force the machines open and steal the cash.

Three members of an organised crime gang have admitted to using cash trapping devices and stealing money from over 40 AIB ATM machines across four counties last year, including Kildare.

Codrin Manoli, 26, from Dundrum, Dublin; 32-year-old Cailin Scintei from The Park in Citywest, Dublin and 29-year-old Marius Crisan from Ormond Way in Swords pleaded guilty to a total of 28 offences.

(L-R) Marius Crisan, Cailin Scintei and Codrin Manoli will be sentenced on 10 April

Between July 4 and 12 last year, the gang targeted 43 machines in Dublin, Louth, Meath, and Kildare.

They inserted cash trapping devices into the machines, which trapped the money, and returned later to force the machines open and steal the cash.

The men will be sentenced on April 10th.
