Illegal encampments on the Curragh are set to be addressed immediately, with Tánaiste Simon Harris confirming that "notices to quit" letters will be issued today.
Speaking on Kildare Today, Harris stated, "These people have no right to be there. They need to go."
"I'm not having any messing around here".
He said letters will be issued to those illegally encamped today and that the State will go right to the High Court if it has to.
He said every lever at his disposal will be utilised to clamp down on illegal encampments.
"I'm on very strong legal ground...this is trespassing, it is illegal," he said.
He said there will be no tolerance for such encampments in the future, adding that he intends to take "a very hands-on approach" to the issue.
Another illegal encampment has been recently set up on the Curragh Plains.
Cleaning up the Curragh cost €200,000 to clean.
