Theft Of Sheep From The Ballysax Plain, The Curragh

14 ewes and 33 lambs were stolen from The Curragh in May 2024

Gardaí are appealing for information following the theft of 14 ewes and 33 lambs from the Ballysax plain, The Curragh.

The incident took place between the 11th of May and 13th of May 2024.

All sheep taken has The Curragh branding, along with the owners branding of the letter D and shamrock ear markings.

All live stock owners are aware of these markings.

It is thought the sheep are now most likely at shore, with the branding removed.

The shamrock ear markings are still there.

Significant transport would have been required to remove the livestock due to the numbers involved.

Gardaí are appealing specifically to the livestock community in Kildare and surrounding counties, as well as to those who may have been offered to buy sheep.

Those with information are urged to contact Newbridge Garda Station at 045 431 212.
