Barretstown, Ireland’s largest provider of therapeutic camps for children with serious illnesses, has opened a new €4 million medical facility, the "Med Shed," to provide essential on-site medical care.
U2 guitarist The Edge joined Barretstown Patron Sabina Higgins, Board Chair Anne Heraty, and CEO Dee Ahearn to officially launch the facility, which will support children affected by cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

Staffed by a team of full-time medical professionals and supported by volunteer doctors and nurses, the facility offers 24/7 medical care.
The Edge, a longtime supporter, praised the facility's role in continuing the vision of Barretstown’s founder, Paul Newman, and supporting children’s mental and physical well-being in a medically safe environment.
