However, the future of the service is dependent on the outcome of a safety audit.
Local commuters on the TFI Local Link 892 Dunlavin-Newbridge route received welcome news this evening as it was confirmed that the Mountain View bus stop in Athgarvan will be reinstated.
The decision, however, is subject to a safety audit.
The stop will continue to operate as normal until the audit's findings are reviewed.
The move comes following engagement between local representatives and transport authorities, with the issue being highlighted by Fine Gael Cllr Tracey O'Dwyer.
