Study may help to identify biomarkers of innate anti-viral resistance to infection

A new study is seeking to speak to bed partners of people who contracted Covid 19, who themselves did not become infected with the virus.

It is possible that certain individuals infected with Covid 19 may clear the infection using innate immune mechanisms only.

The studies may help to identify biomarkers of innate anti-viral resistance to infection with the virus.

Prof. Cliona O'Farrelly is Professor of Comparitive Immunology at Trinity College, Dublin and Principal Investigator of the Viral Resistance Project.

Speaking to Kildare Today, she explains what the team feels might be happening.

Prof. O'Farrelly joined Clem Ryan on Tuesday's edition of Kildare Today.
