Superintendent Georgina Gray Updates On Leixlip Fire Investigation: Multiple Lines Of Inquiry Pursued

The building was not being considered to house refugees.

Superintendent Georgina Gray, who is leading the Leixlip investigation into a fire at a vacant seven bed bungalow on the Celbridge Road in Leixlip, says Gardai are following a number of lines of inquiry.

There were rumours the property was to be used to accommodate asylum seekers, however the Department of Integration has confirmed the building was not being considered.

Gardai say they told protesters at the house that it wasn't going to be used to accommodate asylum seekers, but they were not believed.

A forensic examination is continuing at the seven bed bungalow, which was burned out in an arson attack in the early hours of yesterday morning.
