The weather warning is expected to be lifted at 12am, Thursday.
Motorists & pedestrians are warned of possible localised flooding.
A yellow rainfall warning is also in place in counties Carlow, Laois, Offaly, Kilkenny, Dublin, Meath, Louth, Tipperary, Monaghan & Cavan.
An orange rainfall warning is in place in Wicklow, Wexford, Waterford, Cork & Kerry.
