That is among the findings in the Irish Independent's How Much Is Your House Worth 2024 survey, which has found house prices in South Kildare have risen by an average of 9 per cent.
It shows the average price of a home in the areas around Newbridge, Kildare Town and Athy now stands at €330,000.
In North Kildare the average price is now €453,000.
It means property prices around Celbridge, Maynooth, Naas and Kilcock have risen by 3 per cent in past the 12 months.
The index found prices nationwide went up by an average of 4 percent in the last year
The paper's Property Editor, Mark Keenan, says house buyers are looking for more space.
