Sinn Féin Calls For Full Review Of €600 Refugee Housing Payment Scheme

Yesterday, Kfm highlighted how Kildare now has 787 properties registered for the €600 monthly payment as of July 13th.

Sinn Féin is calling for a full review of the Accommodation Recognition Payment scheme.

It's after the number of properties receiving the payment to house Ukrainian refugees increased by 17 per cent since the start of the year.

The party's Justice Spokesperson claims the system is unfair, as it remains non-means tested and impacts the private rental sector.

Yesterday, Kfm highlighted how Kildare now has 787 properties registered for the €600 monthly payment as of July 13th.

That’s up from 729 in January of this year and 281 at the start of 2023.

Nationally, more than €339 million has been paid out since the scheme launched in July 2022.

Deputy Matt Carthy is calling for more details on the figures.
