The Rural Independents have proposed a list of 11 key priorities for its pre-Budget submission, which recommends redistributing the TV licence fee to support all broadcasters, including local radio,.

The group have abolition of the Universal Social Charge, 30 euro increases to social welfare rates, and a carbon tax freeze in its submission.

Also in its document, it calls for additional agricultural supports, including no capping of the suckler herd.

The group have also called for further investment into roads infrastructure in its pre-budget submission.
