Revisited: From Kensington Palace to Kildare - The Story Of Princess Diana's Friendship With A Nun

They met through a mother of one of the butlers working in Kensington Palace.

Listen: Emma O'Connor revisits the fascinating story of the relationship between Princess Diana and a nun from Kildare.

The letters, exchanged between the pair from 1992, were sent from Kensington Palace by Princess Diana to Sister Teresa, a Kildare nun belonging to the Little Sisters of the Assumption in Wrexham, Wales.

They met through a mother of one of the butlers working in Kensington Palace.

Sr Teresa wrote to Princess Diana following her father’s death in 1992.

In these handwritten letters, Princess Diana replied to Sr Teresa thanking her for the “prayers and support” throughout this time followed by her “deepest admiration for the wonderful work” that Sr Teresa carried out.

Sr Teresa received a Christmas card in the December that included an image of Princes William and Harry.

She hand signed the letters “with my love”.
