Enough water saved in 2021 to supply five Kildare towns and villages.
Irish Water says they have saved enough water this year to supply five Kildare towns and villages.
The utility company has been working with Kildare County Council to drive down leakages.
It has resulted in savings of almost 1.5 million litres of water daily across the county.
That’s enough clean drinking water for over 11,000 people, or the population equivalent of Rathangan, Prosperous, Derinturn, Castledermot and Johnstown.
