Rents In Kildare Have Increased By 6.3% In The Last Year.

Daft.ie report shows Dublin rents down by 7%.

Rents in Kildare have risen by 6.3% over the last year.

That's according according to Daft.ie's latest report, for the 12 months to the end of Quarter One.

It indicates that the average listed rent in the county is now €1,451 per month.

That's a 107% increase from its lowest point.

Among the report's other main findings are:

Average national rent in Q1 is higher again than a year previously, the largest quarterly gain since mid-2018.
Rents in Dublin fall, with the city centre seeing price drops of 6.5% in one year and is now €1,974

Supply in County Dublin is up 20%

Outside of Dublin rents are 7.1% higher than in Q1 2020 - that means renters are paying €900 extra per year

Outside Dublin there were only 1,150 rental units available on May 1st - down one third from the same date in 2020

Supply continues to be a major issue with only 66 properties available to rent across the Midlands in May.

Ronan Lyons claims investment funds have a role to play in the rental market and is worried they could be pushed out.
