As storm Éowyn edges closer to Ireland, the National Emergency Co-ordination Group convened today to evaluate the situation.
Following their assessment, the group announced widespread closures in areas expected to experience the storm's most severe impacts, which includes Kildare.
All schools, early learning centres, childcare facilities, and higher education institutions located in areas under a Status Red weather warning will remain closed for the duration of the alert.
In addition to the closures, the group has urged employers operating in Status Red regions to allow employees to work remotely wherever feasible, to prioritise safety and reduce unnecessary travel.
