The meeting is being hosted by the Broadford Area Residents Association
A public meeting takes place tonight in Broadford House at 8 o'clock to discuss concerns related to the Roadstone Quarry in Kilglass.
Recently, Kildare County Council granted Roadstone Limited permission to extend the life of the existing sand and gravel pit development on 23 hectares of land.
The Broadford Area Residents Association is hosting the meeting as residents seek assurances that water quality won't be affected and concerns have also been raised at the number of HGVs that will be travelling the rural roads.
In a statement to Kfm, Roadstone Limited says "it is committed to being a good neighbour and playing a positive role in the communities in which we operate.
Operations at all of our quarries are subject to rigorous regulatory and planning requirements.
Once operational Roadstone Kilglass will provide essential building materials for use in a variety of construction projects in the local area." the statement concluded.
