Public Bus Route Between Newbridge And Maynooth University Under Broader NTA Review

It comes after a lack of direct public transport options for students commuting between the two locations was highlighted.

The National Transport Authority (NTA) is to consider the introduction of a public bus route between Newbridge and Maynooth University.

It comes after a lack of direct public transport options for students commuting between the two locations was highlighted.

In response, the NTA confirmed that while there are no plans for the route as of yet, the suggestion will be included in a broader review of the bus network in Newbridge.

Labour TD Mark Wall, who raised the issue, said the absence of a direct service forces students to rely on lengthy and costly travel options, with public transport journeys taking up to 90 minutes.

Private services offer only marginally shorter commutes at 70 minutes.

With the academic year now over, he urged the NTA to use the summer months to plan the proposed route and encouraged affected students to contact his office to share their experiences.
