The Public Accounts Committee convenes later today to examine the 2019 Financial Statements of An Bord Pleanala.
PAC, of which Kildare North Social Democrat TD, Catherine Murphy, is Deputy Chair, will hear from Comptroller and Auditor General, Seamus McCarthy, and representatives of An Bord Pleanala, led by Chairperson Dave Walsh.

Committee Cathaoirleach Deputy, Laois Offaly TD, Brian Stanley says: “An Bord Pleanala is responsible for the independent determination of planning appeals and adjudicating on Strategic Infrastructure and Housing Developments. The Board is now accountable to the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage and in 2019 received funding of €18.5million from the Exchequer.
“The 2019 Financial Statements included expenditure of €3.4m on legal costs and settlements and the Committee looks forward to discussing this and other matters with the representatives of An Bord Pleanala.”
