3 schools to be based on a single site in Celbridge.
Progress is being made on the acquisition of a site for three co-located schools in North Kildare.
St. Patricks National School, Celbridge Community College and St. Raphaels Special School are to be relocated to a single campus.
The Dept. of Education says "significant progress" has been made on acquisition of the site.
The matter is to proceed to the legal conveyancing stage in the near future.
Kildare North Fianna Fáil TD, James Lawless says "The site is some 16.88 acres and is proposed to facilitate the permanent accommodation needs of the following 3 schools, on a campus type arrangement".
He added "I will continue to engage with the Minister of Education to ensure the extra capacity of our schools here in Kildare North remains a priority".
