Pitbull Attack On Main Street In Enfield: Young Man Injured While Attempting To Drag Dogs Off Woman

Jack was nipped on the hip after he intervened

23-year-old Jack Thompson from Enfield said he came across the woman being attacked and that he tried to drag one of the dogs away.

A young man has told Kfm how his instincts took over when he saw a woman being attacked by two pitbulls on Main Street in Enfield on Wednesday afternoon at around 1.20pm.

23-year-old Jack Thompson from Enfield said he came across the woman being attacked and that he tried to drag one of the dogs away.

One of the dogs then rounded on him and bit him on the hip.

"I was walking and I heard a woman in distress. She was in sheer terror. People approached and we saw it was two pitbull dogs attacking her so I suppose I just assisted in pulling the dogs way from her. One of them was latched on to her clothing and wouldn't let go," he said.

He said the incident happened in a car park off the Main Street.

"I grabbed one of the dogs and it turned around and nipped me on the hip. I had to get a tetanus and get the cuts dressed."

Both Jack and the woman were taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown for treatment.

Kfm understands that the woman's injuries were serious but non-life threatening.

Jack said he didn't think at the time and that thankfully another man intervened.

"It could have been a lot worse. I'm just glad other people were around," he said.
