The Taoiseach says it was “not appropriate” for the Peter McVerry Trust to sign off on a peacock enclosure at one of the charity’s homes.
The Oireachtas Public Accounts Committee heard this week the Peter McVerry Trust spent money on the enclosure for two peacocks at a property it had earlier purchased in Naas.
The charity also spent up to €350,000 on widening a driveway.
Speaking at the G20 in Johannesburg, Michael Martin says the revelations were very disappointing.
