
A new survey published today shows the stark figures.
Parents are increasingly skipping meals themselves to ensure their children can eat, a new Barnardos and Aldi survey has revealed.
The survey reveals that one quarter say they are worried about not being able to feed their children.
55% of parents in Leinster have cut back on gas, heat and electricity.
3 in 10 said they have witnessed food poverty first hand
Some 6% of parents in Leinster feel that they are close to food poverty.
Chief Executive, Barnardos, Suzanne Connolly told KFM:"The government should be doing everything it can to reduce the cost on children and families," she said.
"When the government needs to find money it can, we saw that with Covid," she insisted.
