Leixlip had the least amount of HAP properties available
Over 2,100 Housing Assistance Properties were available in Kildare last year.
CSO figures show 2,156 properties were available in the county in 2022.
Some 444 of those properties were in the Athy Local Electoral Area, the most available in the county.
The other LEAs are as follows;

- Naas - 314
- Maynooth - 199
- Celbrige- 184
- Clane - 179
- Leixlip - 70
Some 58,000 properties had tenants in receipt of HAP nationwide on December 31st last year, that's down by 4.3% on the same time in 2021.
More than 80 per cent of Local Electoral Areas saw a decline in numbers of properties with tenants in receipt of the Housing Assistance Payment.
The largest decrease was in Listowel in Kerry with a 20% reduction.
Only 28 (of 166) LEAs had an increase in HAP properties from 2021 to 2022.
This increase was greater than 5% in Milford in Donegal (5.1%), Loughrea in Galway (6.3%), Kenmare in Kerry (6.6%), Killarney in Kerry (8.7%) and Donaghmede in Dublin (11.0%). There was a decrease in HAP properties for 137 LEAs.
The relative fall was greatest for Listowel in Kerry (20.2%), Wexford in Wexford (19.4%) and Birr in Offaly (18.4%).
