OPW To Push Ahead With Allowing Traffic Up Avenue At Castletown House

Save Castletown Committee says it's "disappointed the OPW has decided to proceed with protocols."

The OPW has decided to push ahead with allowing traffic up the avenue at Castletown House in Kildare.

Locals in Celbridge have opposed the move since it was first mooted, and have been keeping a presence at the gates.

The OPW says it "respects that there is a right to protest" but that "it can be done in a way without impeding the work of the OPW."

In response, the Save Castletown Committee says it's "disappointed the OPW has decided to proceed with protocols."

It adds the protocol "allows for 20 vehicles a day, including mini buses and staff cars, access to Castletown via Lime Avenue."
