Just four properties were available to rent through the Housing Assistant Payment (HAP) in Kildare, according to a report by homelessness charity Simon Communities of Ireland.
The Locked Out of the Market report found that 46 properties were available through the HAP scheme in 16 local authority areas last month.
Despite there only being four properties available through the HAP scheme, Kildare had the second largest amount of properties, with Dublin having the majority at 76%.
Waterford city had two, with there being one property available in the suburbs of Cork city, Galway city, and Dundalk.
Eight of the 16 local authorities had no accommodation available through HAP, which included Athlone, Cork city centre, Galway city centre, Leitrim, Limerick city suburbs, Limerick city centre, Sligo and Portlaoise.
