One Of Ireland's Biggest Childcare Providers With Facilities In Kildare Warn Parents Fee Increases Are Likely

Tigers Childcare operates two facilities in Kildare, with another one soon to open

One of Ireland's largest childcare providers has warned parents in written letters that it may need to increase fees by up to 40% due to the unchanging government subsidies.

Tigers Childcare operates 22 facilities, with two currently open in Kildare and one soon to be open.

The two open Kildare facilities are in Brayton Park, Kilcock and Ryebridge, Kilcock.

A third facility is soon to be open in Naas.

The providers have now said as they enter their third year of core funding, the funding remains inadequate and fails to cover costs.

Speaking to the Irish Independent, CEO Karen Clince, said: “The cost of the provision of care, like the cost of living, has gone up in the last few years. We are struggling to keep up with it. Fees have been frozen since 2019. Now, we’re stuck between a rock and hard place."
