Refugees, communities and employers to work together on integration

A new EU-funded pilot project has been launched in North Kildare to support the integration of Ukrainian refugees.

The initiative, Co.Here, will run for a year across Maynooth, Kilcock, Leixlip, Celbridge, and Straffan.

It will bring together refugees, local communities, and employers to share experiences and create opportunities in education, work, health, and social life.

Led by UCD in partnership with Helping Irish Hosts and tech firm Pairity, the project will gather evidence to inform both local and national integration policy.

Launching the project in Maynooth, local councillor Angela Feeney said it showed “a model of good practice” by listening to lived experiences and finding practical ways for communities and newcomers to connect.
