It was attended by President Michael D Higgins, Taoiseach Simon Harris and other members of Government, along with Defence Force veterans and serving members.

Newbridge native Retired Sergeant Major, John Murray was in attendance and said today is about remembering friends and colleagues, particularly "the 48 deceased members of UN Missions".
