Residents of Mullen Park Estate in Maynooth are expressing frustration over the unfinished creche promised in their development's brochure.

Despite moving in three years ago, the childcare facility remains incomplete, with only a vacant building with windows and a roof.

Connor, a resident with a baby girl, described the situation as "mad."

"It's crazy that there's a facility just lying vacant," he said.

The brochure described the estate as a new development of well designed high quality three and four bedroom energy efficient A rated family houses being built on a very attractive site at the thriving town of Maynooth. The development benefits from an on site Crèche".

Cllr Angela Feeney shared the frustration of families struggling with career choices due to the lack of creche places. She mentioned that one family is 216th on a waiting list for a place at a creche in Maynooth.

Two residents even approached the developer offering to run the creche themselves.

Cllr Feeney has contacted Kildare County Council, with officials meeting with the developer.

The developer plans to address potholes and incomplete green spaces over the summer.

However, residents remain skeptical, fearing the creche will never open.

Kfm has contacted the developer for comment.
