Minister Called On, Yet Again, To Increase 2nd Level Places In Kildare South.

Dept. says much of the pressure is created by parents putting their child's name down in several schools.

The Minister for Education is being called on, yet again, to increase places at second level in Kildare South.

St Conleth's Community College in Newbridge is creating an additional 1st year class for the next academic year, which is being welcomed.

However, pressure for places continues in all other areas of the constituency.

The Dept. has frequently stated that much of this pressure has been created by parents putting their child's name down at several schools, which is refused by elected representative and lobby groups.

An additional 1,000 pupil second level school is to be created at the Curragh.

Kildare Senator, Mark Wall, speaking to Kildare Today, says this project seems to be stuck at the site acquisition stage.
