Maxol Expands Sustainable Transportation Footprint With EV Charging Hubs In Newbridge And Ballycoolin

The hubs, boasting six 200kw chargers each, promise a lightning-fast 15-minute charge time.

Maxol is powering ahead in Ireland's electric vehicle (EV) revolution, announcing the launch of its first Ultra Rapid EV charging hubs in Newbridge and Ballycoolin.

The hubs, boasting six 200kw chargers each, promise a lightning-fast 15-minute charge time.

Scheduled for March and May openings respectively, CEO Brian Donaldson hints at more to come - with plans for an additional 20 sites across Ireland in the pipeline.

However, hurdles remain. Donaldson has highlighted challenges such as power capacity access and grid connection delays as roadblocks to a speedy EV transition.

Yesterday, Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan announced the launch of a new €21 million scheme to accelerate the development of high-powered EV charging infrastructure across Ireland's road network.

The scheme aims to target publicly available facilities such as service area operators, hotels, and retail outlets located within a 3km driving distance of the motorway/dual-carriageway network.
