Man Cycling Across Ireland Towing Dialysis Machine Arrives In Maynooth

A man undertaking a five-day 240km cycle towing a dialysis machine has landed in Maynooth.

Peter Conboy left Temple Street Children’s Hospital in Dublin this morning.

His lengthy journey will finish at the National Commemorative Garden for organ donors in Salthill, Galway.

Peter is hoping to raise awareness and funds for the Irish Kidney Association (IKA) and promote organ donation.

His route will pass through towns like Maynooth, Mullingar, Athlone, Ballinasloe, and Loughrea, with the final leg on August 4th.

The effort is personal, as his wife, Liz Ferry, received a kidney transplant 22 years ago.

Members of the Kildare IKA Branch met Peter in Maynooth today to show their support.

He was also cheered on by locals.
