A sum of cash and some jewellery was stolen by the raiders.
A man in his 60s has been injured after an aggravated burglary at his home in County Meath.
It happened yesterday afternoon in the Hill of Down area.
Shortly after 1 pm yesterday, two men went into the home of a man in his 60s in the Hill of Down area of County Meath and attacked him.
The victim of the attack was taken to Mullingar General Hospital for treatment, his injuries are not life threatening.
During the incident, jewellery and cash were reported stolen.
No arrests have been made and Gardaí are appealing for information.
They want to speak to anyone who was in the Hill of Down and Kinnegad areas between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm yesterday and may have witnessed anything to come forward.
They're also asking for anyone who may have video or dash-cam footage from the area at the time to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
