Out of 11,239 2nd, 3rd and 4th year primary school pupils in Kildare, just 5,543 have seen by a HSE dentist.
Screenings in the county are believed to be even lower as the figures include children in West Wicklow.
In Meath, screenings are even lower, with 2,378 pupils out of 10,000 denied a school dental screening appointment last year.
