One Kildare business was among 55 nationwide retail premises inspected this month by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC).
The unannounced checks targeted businesses in five counties.
One inspection took place in Leixlip.
Retailers in clothing, beauty, groceries, furniture and hospitality were among those visited.
Breaches of consumer law were found, including missing or incorrect price displays.

Patrick Kenny of the CCPC said traders must display clear prices - if they don’t, they face fines or prosecution.
The CCPC says consumer complaints helped guide the inspections.
Over 44,000 people contacted its helpline last year.
The Commission is now calling for tougher penalties as it believes current fines don’t go far enough.
Recent court cases saw three companies plead guilty to pricing breaches.
Each was ordered to donate €1,000 to charity.
