Multiple speed checks were carried out across the county recently.
Recent speed checks conducted in different locations across the county have led to multiple motorists being penalised for excessive speeding and dangerous driving.
In Kilcock, Gardaí detected a vehicle travelling at a speed of 170km/h on the M4, where the speed limit is 120km/h.
The driver ran a red light after exiting the motorway.
They were caught and charged with three counts of dangerous driving.
Following numerous public complaints about speeding on the L2019 Rathgorragh Kill, gardai detected several motorists exceeding the 60km speed limit.
Recorded speeds included 91km/h, 95km/h, and a staggering 104km/h.
As a result, Fixed Charge Penalty Notices (FCPNs) of €160 and three penalty points were issued to each offender.
A separate speed check on the R409 Halverstown resulted in a motorist caught driving at 99km/h in a 60km/h zone.
Upon further inspection, the driver was identified as an unaccompanied learner permit holder without displaying the required L-plates.
The driver admitted they were on their way home from a driving lesson.
The vehicle was seized, and an FCPN of €440 along with three penalty points was issued.
This location is classified as an accident blackspot.
