Over 10,600 people waiting on trolleys in Irish hospitals during October

Staffing issues in Ireland’s health system has led to a "rationing of care", according to a leading health economist.

It comes after the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation recorded over 10,600 people were placed on hospital trolleys in October.

This morning, the INMO noted 19 people were awaiting beds at Naas General.

For many days across the month of October, figures exceeded 600.

The union also noted October was the worst month for pediatric overcrowding on record.
