Latest Arson Attack In Leixlip Prompts Further Fears That Someone Is Going To Die

Eamon Ryan says the fires have to be stopped before someone is seriously hurt.

The Environment Minister says he fears someone will die because of the ongoing arson attacks on buildings earmarked for asylum seekers.

Gardaí will hold a press briefing this morning following a fire at a building in Leixlip yesterday where significant damage was caused.

Protests were held there recently, however the property on the Celbridge Road was not under consideration for refugees.

Eamon Ryan says the fires have to be stopped before someone is seriously hurt.

The latest incident is the eighteenth such fire on a premises that was either rumoured, or being considered, to house international protection applicants in the last number of months.
