Cllr Aisling Moran won the seat on her first outing in 2019
Cllr Moran won the seat on her first outing in 2019, which her father John held for 28 years.
Speaking to Kfm she said increasingly bitter and, at times, acrimonious clashes with members of her own party at council meetings over the past number of years have left her with no option but to break from Fine Gael.
She now intends to continue as an Independent councillor.
