Kill-Based Developer BAM Wins Belfast Children's Hospital Contract Amid Ongoing Cost Dispute In Dublin

BAM has been awarded the contract for the Belfast hospital, in partnership with the GRAHAM construction firm.

Kill-based developer BAM, the construction company behind the National Children's Hospital, has been awarded a contract to build a multi-million euro children's hospital in Belfast.

The company recently made headlines again after it sought an extra €100m in costs.

Belfast's Health Minister, Mike Nesbitt, along with First Ministers, Michelle O’Neill and Emma Little-Pengelly, made the announcement on Wednesday that work will begin in days, according to the Irish News.

BAM has been awarded the contract for the Belfast hospital, in partnership with the GRAHAM construction firm.

Commenting on additional costs sought by BAM for the National Children's Hospital, Tanaiste Simon Harris said "the developer can look for whatever the developer wants, but the state is going to continue to robustly push back".

He said "many claims that have been lodged by the developer have not been paid out" because they were not considered to be "valid".
